‘Aunty Mel’ (as she is now known to us) took exceptional care of my dog Rosie and my home whilst I was away on holiday for 10 days. She went over and above every expectation I had, and Rosie could not have been in better hands. She is a real natural with animals and very kind and caring.

As Rosie is a complicated rescue dog with fear and separation issues Mel ensured she got to know Rosie so well before hand, giving me total peace of mind whilst away. The email and photo updates of Rosie were a gorgeous touch too.

We had a great experience with Mel who cared for our 2 British Shorthair cats while on international vacation for 3 weeks. Mel was visiting them twice a day for feedings. She scheduled social visits with the cats prior to departure which we think eased both the cats and our minds!

Our kitten is afraid of strangers & that was a concern of ours however after a couple of visits she was interacting with her like they’d been friends for years. Really appreciated the daily photos of the cats. Furthermore, there was an issue with the home while away which she resolved in consultation with us.

Wouldn’t hesitate to hire Aunty Mel again!

I have an unusual cat who likes contact and talks constantly. When it came to find a pet sitter, this became difficult, as she is not your normal cat, that would just need to be fed.

Mel was amazing from the first contact I felt that she was truly a pet lover, and she listened to everything I said. At our first meet, she was so easy going, and didn’t push herself onto my cat, she interacted so easily with Dasher, and was so caring and attentive.

As this was the first time I had left Dasher overnight, I was of course still nervous. Mel sent me a video each day, and I could see that Dasher was happy and content, she was talking and purring. This just solidified my confidence in Mel, and because of that I had the best holiday I have ever had. I was able to relax. I got excited to see the next days video, and it was just much better than I had thought possible.

Mel is just incredible, she is understanding of the individual needs of the pet, and the need for assurance for the owner. I have no hesitation in using her again, and have spread the word to my family and friends, Mel is my pet sitter from now on, regardless of what pet I have! Thanks Jo & Dasher

I have used Aunty Mel on a number of occasions and the best way to describe her service is “my sanity saver”. Living a busy lifestyle with our fur babies is definitely a juggling experience, however, Mel has managed to put my mind at ease and enabled me to leave my babies with her on sleepovers in my own home. We get constant updates which are fantastic and always with a great sense of humour.

Her business model is second to none, there is nothing Mel has not thought of when taking care of anybody’s precious family member of the furry kind. We recently went on a 3-week overseas trip. We haven’t left our dogs for any extended time and were very concerned with how they would cope without us. In the past we have used kennels and not been really happy with the results. The concept of them being looked after in their own surroundings really appealed.

Our Beagle also requires daily medication for Cancer and it had to be someone that could be relied on to maintain his treatment. However I knew it had to be the right person. I don’t trust many people to look after my fur kids, so I did some very thorough research before making my choice.

Melissa was everything that anyone else has written in the reviews. She came a couple of times before we went away to introduce herself to us and the dogs and to make sure that she was familiar with what was required. She was not fazed on the first visit when our 65kg Mastiff bailed her up at the gate. She sent me daily updates at a regular time, to the point that I would be waiting by my phone for her message she was so punctual. Seeing video and pictures and receiving regular updates was very reassuring and made our holiday that much more enjoyable knowing and being able to see for ourselves that they were happy and healthy. If she had any concerns she kept us up to date, and made sure we were in the loop.

It is a credit to her that that same mastiff Yogi now counts her as one of his best friends and loves his Aunty Mel. Dodger the Beagle says where’s the food?

We use Melissa for regular in-home visits and for long term in house and pet sitting when we go on holiday and I cannot recommend Mel (Miss Pop-Ins) enough, she is absolutely amazing.

From the initial meet and greet, it was clear that Mel was ideal for the job, Nelson loved her, and it was great to know that she has a safety background, as well as all the relevant insurance and the life experience to be able to help out if there are any issues at the house.

Mel always leaves our house as she finds it and helps out with other things like bringing the bins in. She is absolutely great and it’s nice to get regular photo and video updates from Nelson to put my mind at ease when we’re away!
